Die Unterkunft ist gut und die Gastgeber sind herzlich und bemüht zu helfen. Wir hatten schöne drei Tage in Havanna. Da wir uns am meisten in Old Havanna aufhielten gingen die vielen Taxifahrten ganz schön ins Geld. Vor unserem Urlaub hatte ich per E-Mail mit den Gastgebern alles abgeklärt: sie wollten uns vom Flughafen abholen lassen und auch den Taxifahrer bezahlen (dann hätten wir nicht direkt Pesos tauschen müssen) .Es sollte auch noch ein Abendsessen geben für 5 CUC. Ich weis nicht mit wem ich im Vorfeld geschrieben habe, aber sicher nicht mit einem der beiden Gastgebern. Sie könnten kein Englisch, am Flughafen wurde wir nicht abgeholt, essen gab es auch keines mehr und ich musste erstmal erklären wer wir sind, wie lange wir bleiben und zu welchem Preis wir gebucht hatten. Auch das Zimmer welches wir bekommen haben, haben wir nicht erhalten, sondern ein anderes. Da wir wenig spanisch sprechen und die Gastgeber kein Englisch haben wir es aber dabei belassen und nicht versucht zu erklären dass wir ein Zimmer mit eigenem Bad gebucht haben.

The lady was very helpfull, but the bed was hopeless and the room very small. The photo's she shows on the site is not what it really looks like

Fantastic homestay! we got upgraded to Isabella's new property in Old Havana, excellent decor, excellent new bathroom, friendly staff! for someone who was slightly worried about using homestays, this has changed my mind for the better!

Un séjour initialement prévu de 6 nuits chez Isabelle, nous avons eu besoin d'une nuit supplémentaires, des places étaient dispos donc nous avons pu être reçus à nouveau pour une nuit la veille de notre retour en France. Nous avons passez une première nuit chez une voisine (très gentille), une seconde chez Isabelle puis les 4 nuits suivantes chez le fils d'Isabelle dans la vieille Havane, et oui, à Cuba c'est très familiale, l'entraide est très présente et les familles qui nous avons rencontrées ont le souci du bien être de leurs hôtes. (Pour ceux qui veulent une chambre bien spécifique avec tel ou tel déco allez à l’hôtel ou ne venez pas à Cuba, les gens s'adaptent à nous donc à nous aussi de s'adapter). Les premiers jours chez Isabelle nous ont permis de découvrir ses excellents petits déjeuners, une grande partie du quartier de Vedado mais la communication parfois compliqué. Puis nous somme arrivés dans la vieille Havane chez sont fils, Najer, Franco-Cubain. Dépaysement total dans ce quartier que nous avons adoré, il ne faut pas hésiter à aller vers les gens, rentrer dans les ateliers, petits commerces en tt genre, là-bas ça fonctionne comme ça. Najer parle parfaitement Français (Italien Anglais Portugais si je ne me trompe pas) ce qui facilite énormément les conversations et les petites infos bonnes à savoir. La déco est totalement différente et moderne, le quartier extrêmement vivant même la nuit (mais on est au calme pour dormir) et les petits déjeuners sont aussi très bons. Nous étions en voyage de noce et avons eux droit à la plus belle et appropriées des chambres de l'appartement (une petite attention que nous avons beaucoup apprécié) Bref chez Isabelle dans le Vedado ou chez Najer dans la vieille Havane vous serez très bien reçus, libre de vos allez et venues et bien conseillé pour votre séjour. A savoir que la gestion des casas à Cuba est très demandé et pour les avoir vu travailler ils se démènent pour satisfaire un max de personnes et ce n'est pas un hôtel mais une chambre d'hôtes (éternels insatisfaits passez votre chemin). bad experience, i booked a double room and she gave it da day before my arrival to other people without noticing it. once there i had to look for another solution and i lost my deposit. i don't recommend her
