Welcome to Our Home in Takatsuki City! Hello, and thank you for considering our home for your stay in Japan. We have been welcoming guests from around the world since 2007, and we take pride in offering a warm, relaxing environment where you can experience Japanese culture and everyday life. Our home is located in Takatsuki City, perfectly situated between Kyoto and Osaka, making it an ideal base for exploring the Kansai region. With JR Takatsuki Station just a short distance away, you'll have easy access to Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Nara, and beyond. JR Rail Pass holders will find traveling even more convenient, and the station serves as a gateway for longer trips to Hiroshima or Nagoya via the Shinkansen. Our home is located in a peaceful neighborhood, just 2.0 km from JR Takatsuki Station. While it's about a 25-minute walk, a convenient bus ride takes only 10 minutes, and the bus stop is just a 2-minute walk from our house. We look forward to hosting curious travelers who are open to sharing cultural exchanges and creating memorable experiences together. About Our Home Guest Rooms: We have two cozy, bright guest bedrooms facing south, providing plenty of natural light. Workspace: There is a large desk in the second-floor workspace, perfect for studying or remote work. Facilities: Free high-speed Wi-Fi (fiber-optic connection) Free laundry service (washer-dryer) Towels, hairdryer, soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided. About Meals: Our homestay includes a light breakfast, but dinner is not provided. If you would like dinner, we can prepare it for 1,000 yen per meal. Please let us know in advance if you need it. Takatsuki City offers a wide variety of restaurants, supermarkets, and convenience stores where you can easily find delicious food options to suit your tastes. You're welcome to use our microwave, toaster, and electric kettle. We also provide space for your groceries in the fridge and freezer, so you can store and prepare your meals as needed. About Us We are a family of four: myself (57), my husband (56), our son (29), and our two friendly dogs. After retiring early, my husband and I started operating a B&B in Shiga Prefecture, so we host homestay guests during our off-season. If you love dogs, you'll enjoy their cheerful presence in our living room! (Please note, if you're not comfortable around dogs, our home might not be the best fit.) This was my first stay in Japan and also my first Homestay. I stayed for over one month at Chiakis place and I absolutely loved it. The whole family was really welcoming and helpful to me even though I barley speak any Japanese. Their English is really good so you won’t have much of a problem if you only speak English. The house is small but clean and it’s super easy to go to Kyoto and Osaka because Takatsuki-Station is only about 20 minutes away if you walk. You can also take the bus, but I never did that. Takatsuki doesn’t have a lot of foreigner which is also a plus for me. Chiaki-san and Hiro-san also have a second house (cottage) near Lake Biwa which is super cozy. I loved it there so much and we went there pretty much every weekend. You will love it too, if you like the countryside! If you want to stay at this place you need to like dogs because Kai and Tera are always around. I never had animals so it was a really nice experience for me and I absolutely love both of the dogs. They also have a cat but he seems really shy or maybe he just didn’t like me. :D Chiaki-san is also a really good cook so I always looked forward to the breakfast and dinner. In the cottage she also always made fresh bread - you will love it! I definitely can recommend this place. I will come back for sure. I had a great stay with Chiaki and her family. I would recommend to all those interested in a home stay in Japan. It is a great location between Osaka and Kyoto for day trips between each, and a very lovely family.

Excellent location 10 minutes from the station and half way of Osaka, Kyoto and Nara (between 30 minutes and 1h30). Nice room and good breakfast. Thank you Chiaki !

I stayed with Chiaki san and her family for 7 nights and enjoyed my homestay with them very much! They would send me to the train station on days that I needed to leave early (around 7am). Breakfast is simple and great! I opted for dinner on some nights and I have to commend that Chiaki san is a great cook. Chiaki san invited me to their villa in shiga prefecture over the weekend and it was really memorable as I got to experience Japan’s countryside. We went to see ?? (sea of clouds) in the morning on the day I left and it was breathtaking. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Une famille très accueillante sans qui mon séjour n’aurait pas été le même. De plus l’accès à Kyoto et Osaka est simple et peu cher depuis Takatsuki. C’est avec grand plaisir que je revendrai chez Chiaki !

Meine Zeit bei Chiaki und ihrer Familie habe ich enorm genossen. Wir haben interessante Gespräche geführt und viel gelacht. Die beiden Pudel sind super! Ein Aufenthalt bei Chiaki ist sehr zu empfehlen!!
