A few years ago, when I was studying in France, I suggested to French friends to host them in my family's house in Quito. That's how the idea of making a guest house came to mind. In 2010 we built a new six-storey building next to our main house. We now have comfortable rooms, studios and apartments. Our whole family will be very caring for you. Paco the painter, Elena with her delicious cuisine and Dario to make reservations, organize guided tours, recommend a destination or to find a rental car and make the link with the family if you do not speak Spanish. At home you can visit Paco's workshop and admire his works of art. Our house is in the las Orquideas neighborhood which is the safest place in Quito.Â You can walk in the evening without problem and find the atmosphere of a small village not far from the center of Quito. At breakfast enjoy home-made Elena fruit juices (mango, guava, papaya, pineapple ... etc.). The evening will be an opportunity to taste traditional Ecuadorian cuisine. It's really an ideal atmosphere to know Quito.

We stayed with Paco, Elena and Dario for the first five nights of our first visit to Ecuador, in Quito. Dario met us at the airport and handed us over to parents Paco and Elena for our stay. They made us feel really at home. Paco kindly accompanied us in on the bus to central Quito and orientated us. He also took us, starting before dawn, to Otavalo, for a full day in the area which he knows very well. Paco is a professional artist so my wife appreciated his suggestions on her art aspirations. We also had some quite profound discussions with Paco. Breakfast was always good, and Elena served us a different evening meal each day, while chatting to us. Paco helped in a minor emergency (lost wallet and cash card). Before leaving, Dario helped set up my smart-phone for use in Ecuador (not complex but I am a novice).

Great place to stay, easy to access quito by bus from there. The neighbourhood is quite safe. The household is very friendly and helpful... if sometimes a little formal.

Paco and Elena made my experience in Ecuador very special. It was great to also meet and stay with family in Otavalo. With exception of the Internet access, this is a wonderful place to stay and a wonderful family!
