Enjoy Stratford Upon Avon with us

Welcome to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, steeped in culture and history. We have moved from Newcastle!! Now, set in the beautiful rural Warwickshire countryside, on the banks of the river Avon, it is one of the most important and cultured tourist destinations in the UK and the world and with 80,000 plus visitors in 2016. I have returned to these parts of the country after two decades. We hope some of our old students will come and stay as many have returned again and again and we hope all past students parents will come and explore another wonderful region with us steeped in nature, literature, and history. Stratford she has easy rail, road and airport access. The destination for films and theatre, the home of Alan Rickman and Judi Dench. This is where Bond is made and all our greatest writers take inspiration from. Not only our writers but all from around the world take inspiration from Shakespeare's world. A writer's paradise, an artist's palette. There are excellent venues for accommodation and dinners and business conferences, weddings, and christenings and indeed the best schools as well as Shakespeare's School which students can still go to and the birth church in the heart of Stratford by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Stroll with us through these Stratford lanes, get a taste of Merry England, where olde traditions are still alive, from Morris Dancing to a medieval hunt, master of the hounds, the hauntingly beautiful countryside. local country sports and theatre RSC on the doorstep! Make your plans with us. let us take you through the same streets Shakespeare walked and knew so well, let us acquaint you with his hometown, his homes and his school and his birth church and baptism and final resting place. let's meander the shire counties of Oxfordshre, Worcestershire and Gloustershire. Enjoy the most beautiful Malvern Hills and hidden gems like Whitbourne in Hereford. Hampton Court Palace, Warwick Castle, Henley In Arden and the breathtaking Cotswold and all within a short drive of Stratford Upon Avon. There is so much to do, theatre, boats on the river, swans , the Ferris wheel, the living statues, the music at the birth church and choirs, the sweet enchanting shops and lanes. So much to see enjoy and do. The Poetry. The film stars! You could meet Judi Dench and possibly have your programme signed or one of the Harry Potter Actors as this is where the stars are made. You could bump in to (Mr Darcy ) Colin Firth st M&S or even brush shoulders with Royalty if they are paying a visit. Mr Bond Daniel Craig's parents live not too far one cafe tells us at breakfast. locals can tell you a great deal. london too is not too far if you are a fan of Harry Potter we take tours to Warner Bros studio where the Harry Potter films were filmed and you can see the sets. Work through the film and enjoy all the candy you get in Harry Potter films and wands and see platform 9 3/4. Everywhere is within 1 or 2 hours from Stratford Upon Avon. london is on the door step. A day train out. Nothing is too far from this pleasant heart of England. Enjoy Icecream or butter beer or cool drink on hot summer's day at the local stratford markets and strawberries and Samosa and local cheese and treats from close by RSC market stalls. . :-) Arts and crafts by the river with plenty of icecream! When the day ends relax in a country estate with many acres of stunning countryside and enjoy the very best of the English Countryside in natural outstanding beauty. Enjoy Home cooked gourmet meals from produce from our local farmers when not out and about in the stunning gardens. Do not be surprised to see deer or pheasants in the garden and wild life. I was very lucky to be with this wonderful family. They are understood my religious needs as a Muslim very well, they offer a HALAL foods with non-alcoholic drinks. Additionally, Naomi, offers lessons in English which helped me in my studies at Newcastle University. I liked chatting with Mark because he corrected my grammar and encouraged me to talk, I remember the first day of my arrival, he knew me right away when he picked me from the airport. Their home is close to bus station where I can reach the university within minutes I love Naomi's Indian tasty food, especially Chapati. I recommend this nice place strongly to any one who looking for Warm place to stay.

I have spent lovely days with a friendly family who were really kind and endeavor to provide any thing I need. Naomi is very good cook and can cook variety delicious meals. In addition, Naomi likes teaching English and always have good topics to discuss which allowed me to practice my speaking and listening skills. Mark is also a good writer and helpful to improve writing skill. I really thank them for every thing they did to me.

I highly recommend staying in this homestay family! I lived there for 3 months and I have lacked nothing. I felt like home! First, the house is very well located. Jesmond is one of the best areas of Newcastle, both safe and beautiful. It is not in the city center which avoids noise. However, the bus stop is at the base of the door, allowing access to the center in 10 minutes by bus or 30 minutes by walking. There is also a metro station 10 minutes by walking from the house. In this neighborhood, it's also very easy to play sports; Jesmond Dene Park is located just down the street. Second, this family is very nice! Naomi and Mark are super kind and made sure that I lack nothing throughout my stay. I could choose what I wanted to eat every day, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I could even teach them to cook some Belgian dishes. Contrary to preconceived ideas, I have a great meal! Marc and Naomi cook especially Italian, Indian and English meals. I can now say that we can eat very well in England! It was really convenient to come home to after a long day at work and be served like at the hotel: soup, main course, ice cream. Third, the room is very comfortable! Everything is set: mirrors as desired, desk, double mattresses bed and Egyptian cotton bedding, three wardrobes, a dresser, hair dryer, flat screen TV, closet to store suitcases, radiator. The value for money is very advantageous. It is impossible to stay for less! This price includes exactly what you need, including: movies, restaurants, health club ... I had no time to get bored. I really enjoyed watching television with an ice cream with my homestay family some nights but also can have privacy in my room other nights. Naomi is very fun, very girly and very accessible, always up for a girl afternoon! Marc is also very friendly and attentive. Harry is a very nice boy and very playful but also very smart, he will be pleased to teach you English :-) Not to forget, Dobby their very cute little dog! I am very glad I stayed in this family and I learned a lot, both in English culture as Indian culture that I did not know! Thank you for everything ;-)

I do enjoy the time I stay there with Harry, Naomi and Mark everyday, I was really touched by the warmth of their welcome. And they are well-serve me everyday with home cooking, I do miss them very much. If anyone study or have a vacation in the UK or simply in Newcastle, I highly recommend you to stay in Naomi and Mark's for homestay, it is the best accommodation and I can sure that you will have a great cultural exchange experience there.
