We have a small guesthouse on the banks of the Mekong River in a sleepy riverside town called Phon Phisai in the NE of Thailand. Its 650 kms from Bangkok not far from the old city of Nong Khai and the bridge into laos. The rates quoted here are for B&B accommodation only. You can add to this with full board (lunch and dinner), airport shuttle (1.5 hours drive away), sightseeing trips and art tuition at additional cost. Alternatively you can have an All Inclusive Package for a fixed price. See our photos for the tariff table. Our All Inclusive Package includes accommodation, meals, tuition, visits to village life, temples, markets, landmarks etc. You chose where and when you want to go. In a province of Thailand where there are few tourists and almost no English spoken it is very difficult for foreigners to access local Thai culture. We provide you with transport and members of our family to show you around. When you want to explore on your own, it is quite safe as local people are very friendly and helpful. They will always return your smile. Few tourists venture this far and the local Thai villages follow traditions going back thousands of years. This is a land where spirits inhabit trees, lakes and rivers. The rice fields are still planted and cut by hand, rush mats are woven in the houses, the markets are full of strange foods and the Buddhist temples filled with magic. It is not easy to get here so we pick up our guests from the airport 100 kms away . We accommodate a maximum of four guests in two first class rooms and we look after them 24 by 7 from the moment we pick them up. Our prices include all food plus travel to local villages, markets, temples, waterfalls etc. Our guests decide what they would like to do from a wide range of options. Our guest rooms have all facilities including modern ensuite bathroom, river views etc. The guest lounge has a large bar, entertainment etc. Meals are mainly on the terrace next to the river. We provide a choice of meals from Western dishes to exotic Thai food. Bicycles are available and a games room. Our family consists of my Thai wife, our two young boys (7 and 9) and myself (English/Australian). We only open from October to January inclusive each year as the boys go to school in Australia for three terms and then school in Thailand for one term each year.
