I am journalist and my wife Verónica is a teacher of Spanish and literature. We are retired and we enjoy meeting people from all over the world and making them feel like at home. We recommend places of interest and provide recommendations for walking around the city, preventions and information of the history and culture of our beautiful island. The guests will have a duplex apartment, which is part of the main house where we live. It is private and independent. Upper level: bedroom with air conditioning (split) and a private bathroom (cold and hot water). lower level: dining room, living room, digital TV, kitchen with refrigerator, gas stove, rice cooking and other accesories for cooking. Receptions: 24 hours. We give our guests independence, but we are available if they need us, to offer guidance and advice to them. There is a cleaning service periodically and changing of towels and bedding. Cleaning, security, peacefulness and complete privacy are guaranteed. The phone service (local calls) is included on the price of the booking. If our guests want to travel to other provinces or places (Viñales, Trinidad, ect) we look for accommodations for them. Also, we look for collective taxis so our guests can travel in a comfortable and economical way.

Jose and Veronica and their son Alden were wonderful hosts. The place is a small apartment complete with kitchenette. They do not provide meals at this time, but there are good restaurants a couple blocks away, and they are happy to provide cafecitos at the house. Alden sat down with me immediately and showed me all the local places on a map and explained the CUP/CUC system. The best part of the stay was talking with Jose and Veronica about their own travels, as Jose, now retired, was a journalist who filed stories from all over the world. I feel my trip was richer for having the chance to meet them and stay with them a few days. Two things to note -- the house is wonderfully close to the Malecon, close to the bus station, and walking distance to the Fabrica de Arte Cubano (FAC). The only downside was that the shower was very tiny, so if you are a big person (typical American) you honestly will not fit! Otherwise, a great experience!

These people are so sweet! They will help you with everything, the best restaurant, a collectivo or an other casa in Cuba. The room is clean and every day they are cleaning it. It's located 15 minutes from the busy city of havana. You can take the hop on hop of bus for 10 euro and use it for a whole day:) They will make you feel at home from the moment you come in! thank you for everything and hopefully till next time! Notre circuit à Cuba démarrait par un séjour de 3 nuits à La Havane dans le quartier de Vedado chez José et Véronica. Quelle rencontre! Nos hôtes ont été d'une hospitalité, d'une gentillesse extraordinaires, pour mon épouse et moi cette expérience est inoubliable. Nous sommes retourné une nouvelle nuit de retour de Vinales et même sommes allé salué José avant de quitter Cuba, merci à tous les 2 et j'espère une chose... c'est de vous revoir! bisous à tous les 2 et à Alden!

José and Veronica were very welcoming for us. They cared that we had a good time in Havana. We were traveling with our 3 month old daughter and they were good with her. We stayed in different casas for 3 weeks while we were in Cuba and José and Veronica were the most welcoming. The space has everything we needed. They only speak basic English and I was sad that my Spanish isn't better because it would have been lovely to have had long conversations. Their son Alden lives round the corner, speaks fluent English and will help you with and queries. They live in vedado a block from the malecon which is a nice location, however if you want to be in old Havana, then you are 6km away.

Unseren ersten Aufenthalt in Habana bei Veronica und José haben wir sehr genossen. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen. Uns wurde gleich ein Getränk angeboten. Sie sind sehr freundlich und überaus hilfsbereit. Alden, ihr Sohn, der nebenan wohnt, spricht gut Englisch und hat uns gleich bei der Ankunft ausführlich über alle wichtigen Dinge informiert. Er informierte uns ausführlich über Sehenswürdigkeiten in Havanna und die beiden kubanischen Währungen. Er gab uns seine Telefonnummer, falls wir noch weitere Fragen hätten, könnten wir jederzeit anrufen. Sie boten ebenfalls an, uns bei der Vermittlung der nächsten Casa zu helfen. Sie organisierten ein Taxi, um uns zur Viazul Station zu bringen. Das Appartement entspricht den Photos. Es war alles sehr sauber, und Abends saßen wir auf dem kleinen Freisitz mit 2 Schaukelstühlen. Die Lage ist ruhig und günstig gelegen. Man ist gleich am Malecon, am Melia Hotel Cohimba, wo es Internet gibt. In die Altstadt ist es auch nicht weit. Alden gab uns sehr gute Tips, für Restaurants in der Nähe, die super und günstig waren. Uns hat es so gut gefallen, dass wir gleich unsere letzten Abende vor der Rückreise bei José und Veronica gebucht haben!

Estuvimos alojados mi novia y yo y, sinceramente, no tenemos más palabras que agradecimientos. La casa está impecable, con todo lo necesario (y más) para poder estar cómodos. El barrio, el Vedado, es muy tranquilo y posee varios puntos de interés cercanos, lo que hace a su excelente ubicación. Pero más allá de estas cuestiones que no son menores, claro, queremos destacar la amabilidad y la excelente predisposición de José y Vero. Son dos personas simplemente maravillosas, y cuando decimos que nos hicieron sentir como en nuestra casa, lo decimos muy en serio, de corazón. Fue una experiencia única poder conversar y compartir con ellos, realmente aprendimos mucho sobre Cuba, su historia y sus costumbres. Por eso, gracias! Una casa así, con personas así, da gusto encontrarse en la vida. Ojalá se repita pronto! 100% recomendable!!!!!

Pocas veces un viajero tiene la certeza de haber dado en el clavo al escoger hospedaje sin tener una clara referencia.. Con esto queremos decir que Vero y José nos han ofrecido toooodo lo que veníamos buscando,y no hablo de buen precio... Que lo tienen. Desde el minuto 0 la calidez de este matrimonio y su hijo os ha sobrecogido,son personas amables e increíblemente formadas que no dudarán en tratar a quien se hospede con ellos como si fueran de su familia. Les estaremos siempre agradecidos por aceptarnos en el primer contacto con el gran país llamado Cuba. Pd: vamos. Repetir con ellos, ya que no se puede mejorar

José and his family - they are the most warm-hearted people you can imagine! We spent a wonderful time at their place and highly recommend booking with them! We felt like home from the very first moment. The location close to the malecón is unique and they can organize taxi, etc. The breakfast was delicious and we would have loved spending more time at their place! Un abrazo muy fuerte para ustedes!
