About Our Home
Welcome to our beautiful, 250-year-old stone house nestled in the heart of the stunning Douro Valley. Lovingly renovated to preserve its historic charm while introducing modern comforts, our home invites you to step into a harmonious blend of history and serenity. This house has been cherished by our family for generations, and we are thrilled to share it with you.
The Space
Our house spans two floors:
- Ground Floor: The entrance leads to the bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and a combined dining area that exudes warmth and character. A staircase takes you to the upper level.
- Upper Floor: Here you`ll find a cozy living room and a serene bedroom with a comfortable double (casal) bed (160 x 200 cm).
For your comfort, the house is equipped with air conditioning, ensuring a cozy ambiance during winter and a pleasantly cool retreat in summer, thanks to the thick stone walls.
An external staircase also provides access to the upper floor, offering added convenience.
Outdoor Space
Enjoy the large outdoor area, perfect for relaxing during warm summer days or savoring the cool evenings under the starry Douro skies. It`s an ideal spot for reading, dining, or simply unwinding in nature`s embrace. Additionally, there is ample parking space for your convenience.
The Setting
Situated along a charming old street in the Douro Valley, the house is part of a small cluster of stone homes that radiate character and history. The surrounding area offers a unique and tranquil atmosphere, perfect for immersing yourself in the region's beauty. While one of the neighboring stone houses remains an ongoing project, it is currently dormant, guaranteeing a quiet and peaceful stay without any construction noise or activity.
Important to Note
The house is located in a small, tranquil village, making it the perfect retreat for those seeking peace and quiet. However, having your own car is highly recommended, as the nearest supermarkets, restaurants, and cafes require a short drive (~ 6min).
