Mijn plaats is dichtbij aan Luchthaven (3km) en voor alle noodzakelijke faciliteiten binnen weinig notulenafstand. Mijn plaats is ideaal voor 1st dag van de reis en vorige dag. Upul was a friendly and helpful host. He came at 3am to pick me up from the airport and also dropped me to the airport at 5am the next day. A Uber would have been cheaper but one does not want to take a chance in the night… Upul lives on the 1st floor with his wife and 2 daughters, one a new born and the 2nd a very friendly and playful child. The antique bed room I lived in was on the Ground Floor. It was clean and had a very comfortable bed with clean linen, an A/C with prefect temperature control, a fridge, a desk and an armchair. There is also an Electric Kettle with tea bags provided by the host. The room was nice but it does not have a bathroom ensuite. The bathroom was located across the hall and a few steps below. For those who believe an attached bathroom is important, they should opt for the bedroom on the 1st floor. The House is about 10-15 minutes drive from the airport and no sound of airplanes can be heard. The host provided a Sri Lankan breakfast of Stringed Hoppers with bananas which was filling. For other meals, he kindly lent me his bicycle so that I could leisurely bike for about 15mins to nearby restaurants on the main road, of which there are adequate choices. He also took me to the local communication centre to print out some documents and advised me about the nearest bank for money exchange. I loved the natural beauty, peace and tranquility of the town where Upul lives and the friendly Sri Lankan people around. Thank You Upul.

Upul was such a kind and gracious host! He picked me up from the airport with very little notice, as I was not able to pull money from the ATM. He also drove me to the bank the next morning to attempt at money once again. The room was very comfortable and clean , as was the rest of the house. The bathroom included hot water. And I was fed a delicious breakfast in the morning! I highly rexommemd this homestay!
