Ma maison dedans centralement située dans le coeur de Mérida et moi vous accueillent pour rester ! J'ai plaisir à apprendre que les langues étrangères et la socialisation de la maison a 2 chambres pour une personne et 1 pièce jumelle avec le miroir, le cabinet/garde-robe, le bureau et la lampe, la climatisation, et la TV. Sofia Casellas est 53 et a plaisir à faire cuire, musique, yoles, festivals, lecture, socialisant, et apprenant des langues étrangères. Elle parle anglais

Sólo tengo una palabra: GRACIAS. Gracias de corazón Sofía por tu acogida. Sólo puedo recomendar esta casa y la familia que vive allí. Como estudiante francesa, por primera vez durante un mes en Mérida, vivir en casa de Sofía fue muy cómodo. La vida en esta casa invita a sentirse como en casa. Sofía cocina divinamente y te invita a descubrir muchas especialidades de la región. No tener que preocuparme por la comida es muy agradable, pues ya tenía muchas cosas que descubrir y gestionar aparte. Sofía sabe lo que hace y recibe a los extranjeros con profesionalidad. El primer día me acompañó en autobús, explicándome todo, a mi lugar de trabajo y al centro de la ciudad. Cuando necesitaba algo, sólo tenía que pedirlo y todo eran facilidades. Conocí a gente muy guapa mientras vivía con Sofía, gracias a sus familiares, amigos y conocidos que conocí durante mi estancia. Sofía recibe a la gente en su casa, pero deja libres a sus invitados mediante la confianza mutua. Según mi experiencia, si los estudiantes buscan comodidad en un hogar familiar para apoyar su trabajo paralelo, ¡este es el lugar al que deben acudir!

I highly recommend a homestay with Sophia! She generously shares her knowledge of local history and has been most helpful in providing directions and suggestions of places to visit. She is an excellent cook and her meals are wonderful. If I return to Merida, I would definitely stay with Sophia. She is also very patient with my limited abilities in Spanish.

The most lovely and perfect stay in México! 100 % recommandable! The moment I arrived at Sofia's house, I felt like being home. Sofia is the warmest person with an incredible talent to cook and take care of her guests. I couldn't eat as much as Sofia has offered, always trying to show me different traditional meals the tasty mexican cuisine has to offer. She was always there for me, my questions, taking me into the city centre and showing me great places around. The house is well located in a quite neighbourhood, I always walked into the city centre and always felt very safe in whole Merida. I could go on for hours - Just go there and make the best mexican experience on your own ;-)

Absolutely amazing host. Loving, caring and generous. We chose the room and meals and the food was incredible. Everything was very fresh and the host was very accommodating with our food preferences.

Sofia was great. I needed to arrive a day earlier and it was no problem and I also needed to extended by a day which wasn't a problem either. The house and all the people (+dogs) are lovely. The meals were fantastic, Sophia prepared amazing local meals every day for me. It was very easy to get to and from the center of Merida, which was only 15-20 mins by bus/collectivio. Sophia helped me get into the center of town on my first day there. She also showed my around Merida itself and helped me in getting to and from the beach. The room was great and very tidy. I felt like I was at home the whole time. I would definitely stay again! Thanks Sofia!

This was an amazing week that totally surpassed my expectations! Sofia and her family were welcoming and friendly. She showed me around and went out of her way to ensure I had a great stay! The food was amazing and I was treated to local cuisine and plenty of it! I would highly recommend Sofia to others - particularly solo travellers like me who could do with some extra guidance!
