La casa está a apenas 100 metros de la playa en una vecindad residencial, es dos historias y mi madre, mi hermano y yo viven allí. La casa es espaciosa, tiene un árbol de mango en la yarda y anon un árbol en el jardín. Tenemos dos perros y dos gatos. La vecindad está 10 minutos de la ciudad emparedada y a 5 minutos del aeropuerto por transporte público. Hay dos rutas de autobús a partir de 5 AM a 9 P.M. y servicio abundante del taxi. La vecindad es muy segura y los vecinos muy amistosos y reservados. La playa es extensa y en ella practican deportes acuáticos tales como cometa que practica surf y echan en chorro cielo, él son también perfecta para nadar por las mañanas. Mi madre (Flor) gasta sus imágenes de bordado y de pintura del tiempo libre. Mi hermano (JosÃ(c)) tiene inclinaciones musicales y me dedica mi hora libre de leer, hablar, mirar películas, camina, nadada y cuando tengo la oportunidad de viajar.

Superb hosts. Older reviews and posted pics are accurate. It’s clean, the beds are good, and the AC in the rooms works well. Lovely patio. It’s quiet at night. Laundry is easy to do. The neighborhood felt safe and the beach across the street is a nice one that is not crowded like many others. It has restaurants. A small market and pharmacy are close by. Buses are frequent and it’s a short, easy ride to the center.

I highly recommend this homestay. Luis and his family were perfect hosts and the home was comfortable and clean. Luis and his family patiently helped me practice my Spanish. They cooked wonderful and healthy breakfasts every day and served me mango juice from the mango tree in the backyard. They helped me with things I needed around the city as well. It was simply everything I could have wanted out of a homestay. One potential area for improvement could be that there is no hot water (mostly not needed in Cartagena´s climate, but occasionally was sorely missed).

Great hosts. Luis has shown us the loveliest parts of Cartagena and explained a lot of things. The house was very clean. The family invited us to eat with them and helped to organise a trip to islas del Rosario. Would definitely stay with them if again in Cartagena!

It was a wonderful stay with a wonderful family. I can only recommend this warm-hearted family to everyone. Luis accompanied me to the centre and to a foundation. He always gives good advices. To be honest, when I first saw a 5 star rating for this family I was very skeptical. I thought to myself 'how could there be so many reviews with 5 stars, they are human (lol)?' I now know why this family has 5 stars and if I could give them 100, I would. They are absolutely amazing! It was a PERFECT stay and I could not have asked for a more helpful gracious family. It's actually unbelievable. I appreciate you all so much Luis for everything! When and if I come back to Cartagena I hope you have a room available for me :)

What an excellent visit I had with Luis Carlos and his family! I felt very comfortable with them throughout and also very comfortable in the house (which has great architectural style and amazing artwork by Sra. Flor!). The house is close to the beach and also very close to the airport and public transportation access. With Luis and crew, I always felt a part of the family because they included me in all the activities or whatever I wanted to do and also helped me explore the city, the beach and the market (incredible place). They were always very generous with their time and their patience when I tried to speak Spanish. I definitely recommend this homestay experience to the people of my country and elsewhere who want an authentic Colombian experience.
