Staying at “casa Irene” was nice. The owner and host Gilberto is friendly and accommodating. He tried to fulfil our request. In a country like Cuba it’s not easy to find things that we in other countries take for granted. He helped us with information and help us arrange things during our vacation. The apartment itself was good. Taking in to account the lifestyle of Cubans this was a very good apartment and very private but close to the main attractions in Havana. The neighbourhood at first doesn’t look much or feel safe. If you travelled in Latin America before it’s not going to be a problem because you will know that this is normal. The street where the apartment is situated itself is quiet. It is 2 streets down from the main road, where you can walk to Capitolio, Hotel Inglatera ect. Other streets in de vicinity are much more busy, with children playing in the street, teenager hanging around trying to get wifi connection and Cubans visiting each other. In Cuba people hang around or visit at the front door as the houses are small and don’t have allot of space in the back. Therefore the streets can seem very crowded some times. But if you want a true Cuban experience, where you can experience the daily life of Cuban’s this place is a good choice. It’s in the centre of town. The owner also pick you up at the airport at your request to make sure you arrive safely and don’t get lost. If you want he arranges a personal taxi to drive you around during your stay. The prices are allot cheaper than other taxis. As he uses neighbours or people of the neighbourhood for you to choose. We enjoyed our stay and the extra mile Gilberto goes to make your stay and vacation a great one. I recommend staying here. You will get your own private apartment in the centre of Havana, with the owner and his family living next door.

A good place. We had a whole apartment, and it is place near centrum. Gilberto is a helpfull and nice man, and it was very nice to live there. Tom Horn and Sonja Lønsholm

Gilberto es una persona excelente. Tuvimos todos los servicios que venían en la descripción de la página, en el departamento nos sentimos muy cómodos, tuvimos privacidad y nos sentimos en familia todo el tiempo. La familia de Gilberto es muy linda y hospitalaria y nos hizo sentir siempre bienvenidos. Volvimos otra vez a la Habana y nos trataron súper bien, como siempre. Sentimos que ya son nuestra familia. Definitivamente si volvemos a Cuba, pasaremos a la Habana y nos hospedaremos con Gilberto en la casa Irene.
